Hmm.. Where to begin; Well since becoming a mum to a poorly baby, Ollie, in 2018, it left me with no other option but to give up my job as a nursery practitioner, a job I loved. But unfortunately it just didn't fit around countless hospital visits, as well as his medical treatments and my introduction to motherhood saw me as a registered carer to my little boy.

Then at the start of 2019 I became a single mum, determined to give myself and Ollie the life I had always dreamt of  (Which was never an extravagant dream, just a nice house, the odd holiday and not struggle.. Pretty much everyone's wishes I guess), I started making cards and small pieces like hand-cut prints to gift to family members, as money was tight due to my situation. The love for these gifts grew and family members told their friends who in turn put their own requests in for things I could make.

By May 2019 I decided to take the leap and fully establish myself. This meant I could still care for Ollie as much as I need to but I am able to work alongside it, picking and choosing when suits me best to make things. In June 2019 Michala's Makes was born. Since then Michala’s Makes has been known for an unparalleled commitment to customer satisfaction. It’s this standard of excellence that has provided the impetus for me to grow the business I have today.

That was only just the beginning!

My Business has seen growth each year with new products being made pretty much most months, getting myself involved in Craft fairs and smashing each previous years targets. As well as growing the business, Ollie and I grew our family too. We are now a family of Four. After meeting my partner in 2022 and giving birth to our little girl, Aylah in 2025.

Without the support and love for my products, I wouldn't have had the drive or motivation to work hard building something that now supports my little family and our dreams.
